Dr. Cheryl House
Licensed Acupuncturist, Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine
Dr. Cheryl House is a licensed practitioner of East Asian Medicine in the state of Washington. She began her interest in Chinese medicine as a patient. After dealing with a few chronic health issues that were not effectively treated with western medicine, she found relief after a couple months of acupuncture and Chinese herbs, as well as dietary changes. After experiencing the power of Chinese medicine for herself, she began her studies at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego (PCOM). There, she worked as a massage therapist and honed her ability for healing touch. Internships at San Diego Hospice, Veterans Stand Down, and an integrative health clinic for the uninsured gave her a wide breadth of experience as well as a passion for helping people. In 2008, Dr. Cheryl received her Masters of Science of Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM), and began practicing as a licensed acupuncturist in California. She moved to Seattle in 2011 and has been practicing here for the past 6 years.
Dr. Cheryl is one of only a few acupuncturists in Seattle who have gone above and beyond to obtain advanced post-graduate training for her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, which she completed in 2016. She is an expert in the field of reproductive acupuncture, including male and female fertility, pregnancy, and symptoms during menopause. Dr. Cheryl also enjoys treating other conditions such as acute and chronic pain, stress, digestive issues, insomnia, anxiety and depression, as well as chronic disease.
Dr. Cheryl believes that Chinese medicine can help empower patients to realize the highest potential of their mind, body, and spirit. Her treatments incorporate some of the gentle techniques of Japanese acupuncture. In addition, dietary and lifestyle modifications, Chinese herbal medicine, carefully chosen supplements, cupping, moxa, and gua sha may also be incorporated when appropriate. Her mission is to be a partner in helping each patient achieve their goals for health.
On her free time she can be found reading a book, snowshoeing, brewing kombucha, or watching a good reality TV show.
